African Conflicts and American Diplomacy: Roles and Choices
The CSIS Africa Program and the American Academy of Diplomacy cordially invite you to attend a conference entitled:
“African Conflicts and American Diplomacy: Roles and Choices”
This event will address the major diplomatic challenges facing Africa and examine the policy tools which the United States can use to meet them. A group of eminent former senior diplomats will identify the priorities which underpin policy toward Africa and highlight the areas where U.S. capacity and influence can best be directed. They will analyze three of the continent’s diplomatic ‘hot spots;’ the Horn of Africa, the Great Lakes region and Nigeria. A lunchtime speaker and current U.S. policymaker will explain how Africa’s challenges are assessed and acted upon.
