2009 PONI Fall Conference - Royal Society, London

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 1:00 am - 6:00 pm
Royal Society 6-9 Carlton House Terrace London SW1 5AG United Kingdom

The Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) Fall Conference will be held on October 26 and 27 at the Royal Society in London, England. This will be the third of our three regional conferences leading up to our year-end Capstone Conference at U.S. Strategic Command on December 15th.

Like each PONI conference this year, the panels of selected presentations will correspond roughly to the 2009 research agenda, which focuses on nuclear infrastructure, nuclear posture, proliferation risks and nuclear terrorism, and arms control and disarmament. For this conference, panel presentations will be centered around the following subjects.

  • Technical and Operational Challenges with Stockpile and Force Posture
  • Responding to the Spread of Dangerous Materials and Technologies
  • Preventing Nuclear Proliferation
  • Surveying the Future Nuclear Landscape
  • Key Issues Affecting UK Nuclear Posture
  • Drivers of Change of National Nuclear Policies

The draft conference agenda is located to the right. Please note that this draft agenda is subject to change.
