Oil Markets Study Goup

On January 16, 2007 the Energy Program Oil Markets Study Group held a meeting with Mr. Willy H. Olsen, Former Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of Statoil.  My Olsen spoke on a variety of issues, including resource nationalism and developments in West Africa, Russia and the North Sea.
 
Before he retired from Statoil in 2003, Mr. Olsen was Senior Advisor to the President & CEO of Statoil. He has previously been Senior Vice President, Public & Government Affairs, Managing Director Statoil UK (Ltd), Senior Vice President, E&P International with responsibility for the countries in the former Soviet Union and Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. He has been member of various international advisory boards on the Caspian and Russia, and a Governor of the Board of Oxford Energy Institute. He is an Associate Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London.
