Turkey and the European Union Commission Report

Robin Niblett, CSIS executive vice president and director of the Europe Program, and Bulent Aliriza, director of the CSIS Turkey Project, discussed the impact of the European Commission report on Turkish accession to the European Union (EU) at a CSIS event on Oct.7. Addressing the European, Turkish, and American perspectives, Niblett and Aliriza examined the conclusions of the report, released October 6, in the context of the broader social, economic, and security factors involved in the Turkish accession to the EU.
