2012 PONI Fall Conference at CSIS

Thursday, October 18, 2012 1:00 pm -
Friday, October 19, 2012 9:00 pm
Center for Strategic and International Studies 1800 K Street, NW Washington DC, 20006

The third conference of the 2012 PONI Series will be held on October 18th and 19th at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). The event will feature presentations by rising experts in the field, as well as keynote addresses by prominent experts in the field. It will also include an evening reception and dinner for participants at the conclusion of day one (October 18th). The conference program, available later in September, will provide a detailed schedule of presentations, selected speakers, and key events.

Registration ends by COB on October 8, 2012.

The Beacon Hotel & Corporate Headquarters, located at 1615 Rhode Island Avenue NW, will serve as the host hotel for the event. Reservations can be made here or by calling 202-296-2100 and asking for the group code “PONI”.

To apply to present at the conference, please see the attached call for presentations. The deadline to apply is September 28, 2012.

The PONI Conference Series, now in its ninth year, offers an opportunity for rising experts in the field to present findings from their research in order to advance the broader discussion on nuclear weapons issues. It also seeks to provide a venue for interaction among people from different sectors and for mid-career and senior members of the community to mentor their junior counterparts. This year’s series has included a spring conference at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and a summer conference at Los Alamos National Laboratory and will culminate in a capstone conference at U.S. Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska on March 19, 2013.
