CSIS & Bob Schieffer Launch Podcast Series “State of Journalism”
WASHINGTON, June 14, 2016 : The Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) and the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University (TCU) are pleased to announce the launch of “State of Journalism,” a year-long series of podcast interviews with leaders across the communications landscape.
Podcasts are hosted by CBS News' Bob Schieffer and Andrew Schwartz, CSIS senior vice president for external relations.
Over the next year, Schieffer and Schwartz will hold weekly conversations about journalism and its impact on politics and policy with leaders from legacy media organizations, digitally native news platforms, social media companies, and other top thought leaders.
“State of Journalism” podcast episodes now available oniTunes and CSIS.org include: Morning Joe hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, Washington Post executive editor Marty Baron, CBS News president David Rhodes, and BuzzFeed editor in chief Ben Smith.
“The American people have access to more information than any people in history,” said Bob Schieffer. “But are we more informed or just overwhelmed with so much information we can’t process it? That’s what we’ll try to understand as we explore the communications landscape over the next year.”
New episodes of “State of Journalism” will be posted weekly oniTunes and on CSIS.org.
