Of the Russian Press, Public Sentiment, and Russian Books – Russian Roulette Episode #27
On this episode of Russian Roulette, Olga and Jeff sit down with former CNN Moscow Bureau Chief Jill Dougherty to discuss the Russian media’s coverage of the U.S.-Russia relationship and U.S. politics, as well as her research on the impact of Russian media in the Baltic States. Then, Olga and Jeff answer another of your mailbag questions, offering up some book recommendations with a focus on Russian and post-Soviet authors past and present.
If you are interested in hearing more from Jill Dougherty, check out her expert page at the Wilson Center (http://bit.ly/2nYPtqk) – and, of course, follow her on twitter @jillrussia.
Please keep sending us mailbag questions! If you would like to have your question answered on the podcast, send it to us! Email rep@csis.org and put “Russian Roulette” in the subject line. We look forward to hearing from you.
Correction: In her description of Anya Ulinich’s Petropolis, Olya multiply refers to two characters as of partial African-American ancestry. They are, of course, of partial African, not American ancestry (though they become American later in the novel).
