Briefing on Bush's Visit to Asia, Bill Breer
Four experts on East Asian affairs previewed President Bush's trip to Asia, at CSIS on Thurs., Feb. 14. Victor Cha, Associate Professor of Government at Georgetown University; Kurt Campbell, director of the CSIS International Security Program; Bates Gill, the CSIS Freeman Chair in China Studies (designate); and CSIS Japan Chair William Breer addressed such topics as terrorism, Japan's slumping economy, and reactions to Bush's "Axis of Evil" pronouncement. "For the first time in modern history, every major threat to peace and stability comes from Asia," said Campbell.
