South Sudan: When War and Famine Collide

Friday, June 30, 2017 9:30 am - 10:30 am
CSIS Headquarters
Please join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a conversation about the challenges posed to the international community by the current crisis in South Sudan. The United Nations declared a famine in South Sudan and the Special Adviser for Genocide at the UN warned of the potential for genocide in the region. These issues stem from the ongoing conflict that began in 2013. By highlighting the diverse perspectives of the panelists, these experts will lay out the latest challenges in the region and what policies the U.S. and the international community should pursue.
