A Conversation with Pratima Rangarajan

CEO of OGCI Climate Investments
Tuesday, June 26, 2018 9:00 am - 10:00 am
CSIS Headquarters

The CSIS Energy & National Security Program is pleased to host Pratima Rangarajan, CEO of Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) Climate Investments, for a conversation on OGCI Climate Investments within the context of the OGCI, why the fund was founded last year, and how and why Climate Investments differentiates itself from other funds.

Dr. Pratima Rangarajan was appointed as the first CEO of OGCI Climate Investments in May 2017.  Funded by OGCI member companies, OGCI Climate Investments intends to invest $1 billion over the next ten years to develop and demonstrate innovative technologies which could significantly curb global greenhouse gas emissions.  As CEO, Dr. Rangarajan is responsible for delivery of the fund's mission: creating positive outcomes in the reduction of climate change.

This event is made possible by general funding to CSIS and the Energy & National Security Program.

About Climate Change and the National and Corporate Interest

Climate Change and the National and Corporate Interest is a high-level speaker series showcasing a variety of country and corporate perspectives on plausible pathways for pursuing a climate change strategy and why those actions are in their national or commercial interest.  Through discussions with high-level government officials and corporate executives, this series aims to broaden the range and depth of understanding of how each country has its own interpretation of why climate action is in their national interest and how global corporations are positioning themselves to be competitive in a lower-carbon future.
