Please join us at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room SD-G50 for the launch of a new CSIS report "Low-Hanging Fruit: Evidence-Based Solutions to the Digital Evidence Challenge." The event will feature keynote remarks by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and a panel discussion with David Kris (Culper Partners LLC), Ethan Arenson (Oath), David Bitkower (Jenner & Block LLP), and Jane Horvath (Apple, Inc.). 

The report, written by William A. Carter, Deputy Director and Fellow, CSIS Technology Policy Program, and Jennifer Daskal, Associate Professor of Law, American University, examines the challenges and opportunities faced by law enforcement in accessing and leveraging digital evidence. It provides recommendations for Congress, law enforcement, and service providers to work together to establish a national digital evidence strategy that strengthens law enforcement’s ability to protect the public, while also strengthening protections for privacy and civil liberties.
