Online Event: Who Makes Cyberspace Safe for Democracy?

Tuesday, May 19, 2020 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Digital connectivity increasingly extends into every part of our economy, infrastructure, and society, but our democracy is struggling to keep up. Americans face growing threats from cyberspace — and the networks that make up that cyberspace are almost entirely privately owned. Government and industry must figure out how to work better (and faster) with one another to counter those threats, secure our democracy and our infrastructure for the 21st century, and continue to seize on the promise of our modern digital economy. The U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission has recommendations to make it happen — but Americans have no time to waste.

*This panel was initially scheduled to take place as a live event at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference.
