Online Event: Unleashing American Innovation

In April 2019, NIST published a roadmap for enhancing American competitiveness. America spends over $150 billion in research and development through government grants and in government laboratories. Far too little of this innovation works its way to commercial application. This session will focus on the challenges of moving innovation in government laboratories into the private sector. Our guest will be Dr Walter Copan, Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the National Institute for Science and Technology. Dr. Copan will discuss the blueprint of innovation that can enhance technology transfer for a more prosperous America.
