Akanksha Golchha is a senior associate (non-resident) with the Chair on India and Emerging Asia Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She works to advance U.S.-India cooperation and broader emerging economy partnerships on energy transition, with a focus on electric mobility, renewable energy deployment, and gender equity in the energy sector. She has been leading projects on Global South collaboration in electric vehicles and clean energy. Previously, Akanksha led the Renewable Energy program at NRDC India, where she focused on energy security and the intersection of gender and clean energy access. Prior to that, at Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, she designed and managed programs to advance distribution sector reforms and improve energy access across India. She brings nearly a decade of experience spanning policy design, stakeholder engagement, and applied research on renewable energy and climate change. Akanksha has published in leading journals and digital platforms and has contributed to major policy dialogues on India's energy transition. She holds a master's degree in regulatory governance from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, and is a qualified chartered accountant.
