Anthony Bell is a research associate with the International Security Program at CSIS, where he works on a broad range of U.S. defense and security policy issues related to Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining CSIS, he worked with the Office of the Secretary of Defense on counterterrorism and security issues in Libya and North Africa. He previously worked as a research assistant at the Institute for the Study of War, focusing on political and security dynamics in Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Since 2013, he has served as an instructional assistant at the George Washington University for courses on foreign policy decisionmaking and international security politics. He graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the George Washington University with a B.A. in international affairs and received his M.A. in security studies from Georgetown University.
