Chiara Zambrano is a senior broadcast journalist with a 19-year career producing news and documentaries on the Philippines and the Indo-Pacific region. Formerly the news correspondent for defense of the ABS-CBN Corporation, her body of work shows extensive coverage and analyses of internal and external conflict as well as disasters and humanitarian response. Chiara specializes in the maritime security issues surrounding the South China Sea, violent extremism, and challenges to the peace process in the southern Philippines. Her journalism has helped shape both public policy and public sentiment on complex security matters that affect everyday life. She holds an MA in documentary by practice from Royal Holloway, University of London, under the Chevening Program, and an MA in journalism under the Ateneo de Manila University’s Asian Center for Journalism. Her documentaries have received international acclaim from the New York Festivals and the Cannes Corporate Media & Television Awards, among others. She is also the recipient of the Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Award and the Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Award for exemplary journalism.
