Cyrus Newlin

Research Associate and Program Manager, Russia and Eurasia Program

Cyrus Newlin is a research associate and program manager with the Russia and Eur­asia Program (REP) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). In this role, he provides regular research, editing, and writing support to REP senior staff; produces the popular Russian Roulette podcast; oversees program finances, proposal development, and project implementation; and organizes and exe­cutes frequent public events and roundtables, as well as an annual Track-II dialogue on U.S.-Russia relations. His research interests include Russian foreign and security policy, Russian civil society, and coercive economic measures. Mr. Newlin holds a B.A. in political science and Russian studies from Swarthmore College. He studied in Kazan, Russia on a Critical Language Scholarship and in St. Petersburg, Russia through the Bard-Smolny Program.
