Cyrus Newlin is a 2019-2020 Alfa Fellow with Bank of America in Moscow, Russia and an adjunct fellow with the Russia and Eurasia Program. He researches geopolitical risk in the Commonwealth of Independent States region. Previously, he was research associate and program manager with the Russia and Eurasia Program, providing research and writing support to senior staff, overseeing program finances, proposal development, and project implementation, and organizing regular events, roundtables, and Track 2 meetings. His research interests include Russian foreign and security policy, U.S.-Russia relations, Ukraine, and sanctions. Cyrus received his B.A. in political science and Russian studies from Swarthmore College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
