Cyrus Newlin is a research associate and program manager with the Russia and Eurasia Program (REP) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). In this role, he provides regular research, editing, and writing support to REP senior staff; produces the popular Russian Roulette podcast; oversees program finances, proposal development, and project implementation; and organizes and executes frequent public events and roundtables, as well as an annual Track-II dialogue on U.S.-Russia relations. His research interests include Russian foreign and security policy, Russian civil society, and coercive economic measures. Mr. Newlin holds a B.A. in political science and Russian studies from Swarthmore College. He studied in Kazan, Russia on a Critical Language Scholarship and in St. Petersburg, Russia through the Bard-Smolny Program.
