Daria Taglioni is an economist with extensive experience in international trade, economic integration, and sustainability. Her work spans empirical analysis of global value chains, currency unions, and the economic impacts of international financial arrangements. Currently serving as the Research Manager for Trade and International Integration at the World Bank’s Development Research Group, Daria leads a research team focusing on trade, international integration, and global disruptions. Over the past two decades, Daria has held senior positions at prestigious institutions, including Senior Economist at the European Central Bank and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development. She has authored influential books and her research has been featured in leading journals, such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of International Economics. Her work has also been cited by major media outlets, including The New York Times and Forbes. Daria has led significant international initiatives, including acting as the World Bank’s Global Lead on global value chains, and has collaborated with top universities, the private sector, the G20 and G7, and think tanks to advance knowledge on trade policy and sustainability in trade and global value chains. Her leadership has had a tangible impact on global economic research and policy discussions. She holds a PhD in international economics from the Graduate Institute, Geneva and is recognized as one of the top 5 percent of female economists globally according to IDEAS/RePEc.
