Jared Thompson

Research Associate, Transnational Threats Project

Jared Thompson is a research associate for the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he researches the evolution of terrorist networks and activities as well as the irregular warfare activities of countries such as Russia, Iran, and China. Prior to joining CSIS, Mr. Thompson worked with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, where he supported security sector governance efforts in the Sahel. He has also interned with the U.S. State Department, Albright Stonebridge Group, and previously served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Burkina Faso. Mr. Thompson holds a BA in international studies from Centre College and an MA in strategic studies and international economics from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
