Mr. Hess served as chief executive officer of Hess Corporation, a global independent energy company engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, from 1995 to July 2025, and served as chairman from 1995 to May 2013. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and in other positions of increasing authority from 1978 to 1995. Mr. Hess served as chairman and chief executive officer of Hess Midstream LP, an owner, operator, developer, and acquirer of midstream assets, from 2014 to July 2025. Prior public company directorships (within the last five years) include KKR & Co. Inc. and Hess Midstream LP. Other directorships and memberships include the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Business Council, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, the American Petroleum Institute, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the New York Philharmonic, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Harvard Business School.
