Kaela Werchniak

Kaela Werchniak is a program coordinator and research assistant with the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Prior to joining CSIS, she served as an economic development volunteer with the Peace Corps in Colombia where she focused on gender equity, migrant financial empowerment, and small business development. Her research interests include international trade policy, development, migration, democratic governance, and post-conflict state building. She holds a dual BA in political science and Spanish from the University of Arizona and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
