
Karen Lee is a research associate with the Southeast Asia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She is a dual-degree MA graduate from Tsinghua University and the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where she concentrated in international development and Southeast Asia studies. Previously, Karen has worked at the US-ASEAN Business Council, the Asia Group, and McLarty Associates. Karen received her BA in international relations from Stanford University, where she graduated with honors. Born and partially raised in Bethesda, Maryland, Karen is proficient in multiple languages, including Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Spanish. She has a working knowledge of Korean, French, and Bahasa Indonesia.
