Kartikeya Singh
Kartikeya Singh has spent the last several years in climate change philanthropy. Most recently he served as director of the Global Electricity Initiative at the Climate Imperative Foundation and director of programmes at the Netherlands-based SED Fund before that. His responsibilities included setting strategies and making grants to groups around the world advocating for a just clean energy transition. Previously, Kartikeya was a senior fellow and deputy director at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he was charged with leading the Engaging Indian States initiative. There, in addition to translating the nuances of the political economy of Indian states and center-state relations for the foreign policy and business community, he developed new strategies and created new networks to bolster public and private sector engagement with Indian states. Specifically, he designed and led two separate initiatives at CSIS focused on energy and healthcare engagement with Indian states and an additional project focused on higher education cooperation between the United States and India. Kartikeya holds a BS in ecology and sustainable development, an MESc from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a PhD from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
