Katrin Heger is a program manager and research associate with the Africa Program at CSIS, where she provides research on issues ranging from U.S. and EU policy toward Africa to good governance, elections, and security dynamics in Africa. Prior to joining CSIS, she worked for Transparency International, the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation, the George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies, and the German Foreign Office. She holds a B.A. in philosophy and economics from the University of Bayreuth, Germany, and received graduate degrees in international relations and public policy from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and the Hertie School of Governance, Germany. She also earned certificates in advanced security studies and post-conflict reconstruction.
