Leon G. Shahabian is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and Arabian Gulf watcher who serves as a principal at Global Insights Group, a geopolitical risk and corporate intelligence consultancy that also houses a digital media practice. Leon cofounded Layalina Productions in 2002 and served as its president until 2019. Yemeniettes, his women's empowerment film, won 15 awards on the international film festival circuit. Mr. Shahabian has testified to the UN Security Council, and serves, since 2009, as a frequent guest lecturer on information operations and propaganda at National Intelligence University. From 2007 through 2012, Leon served as a frequent guest lecturer at National Defense University. Previously, he supported the Information Operations Course at NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany as its keynote speaker and lecturer. Leon is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Pennsylvania State University with dual B.A.s in international politics and French. He is a life member of the Public Diplomacy Council and a member of the Senior Information Operations Advisory Council.
