Liz Abraham
Liz Abraham is a counsel at White & Case, a global law firm, where she focuses on advising clients on complying with U.S. export controls, economic sanctions, and foreign direct investment requirements. She has spent nearly two decades in federal service working on all aspects of U.S. export control policy, ranging from legal and regulatory analysis to administrative and criminal enforcement, and including its intersection with sanctions and foreign investments. She most recently served in government as the director of the International Policy Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), leading country policy teams developing strategies to align and implement export controls. She investigated and prosecuted export control and sanctions cases as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's National Security Division, Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, and spent more than a decade in the legal counsel’s office for BIS, advising on regulatory and enforcement matters.
