Madeleine McLean

Madeleine McLean is a program coordinator and research assistant for the Project on Prosperity and Development at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. In this role, she supports the program’s research agenda, business development, and event planning. Her work’s thematic focus is on international development and human rights with an emphasis on issues related to climate change. Prior to becoming a program coordinator and research assistant, she interned for the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, the Idaho Office for Refugees, the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the U.S. House of Representatives. She was also one of three American students selected to participate as a Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad fellow working toward increasing U.S. relations with Senegal in 2016. She graduated magna cum laude from the St Andrews William & Mary Joint Degree Programme in 2022, where she completed a BA in international relations.
