Margarita R. Seminario served as senior fellow and deputy director of the Americas Program at the Center for International and Strategic Studies from 2019 to 2022. She also worked with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives and for two decades in the international development sector designing, implementing, and overseeing donor-funded projects. Some of her research interests include electoral processes and the effect of the erosion of democratic practices and institutions in hemispheric security. Ms. Seminario holds a master’s degree in comparative public administration and development from the University at Albany and speaks Spanish with native fluency.
