Michael Knaak is program manager for the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Prior to joining CSIS, Michael worked at the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he assisted in planning conferences on a number of public interest topics. Through working with the Freeman Chair, he hopes to further his understanding of U.S.-China relations and Chinese politics. Michael graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with an MA in international relations and dual concentrations in conflict management and economics.
