Mikaela McQuade
Mikaela McQuade is a partner with PwC Canada, where she focuses on helping clients navigate the risks and opportunities of the energy transition from her position with the ESG Strategy and Transformation practice. Prior to joining PwC, she was at Columbia University as chief of staff and strategic adviser to the founding director of the Center on Global Energy Policy and cofounding dean of the Columbia Climate School, Jason Bordoff. She previously served as a director of the Energy, Climate & Resources team within Eurasia Group in Washington, D.C., where she specialized in the policy and geopolitical issues shaping resource industries, commodity markets, and investment. Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Mikaela was a senior policy adviser to the Canadian minister of environment and climate change and to the minister of natural resources. In these roles, she was responsible for providing advice on a multitude of policy issues including carbon pricing, major project environmental assessments, industrial regulations, sustainable finance, and Indigenous rights and reconciliation. Before joining the federal government, she held positions in the Canadian oil and gas sector. Mikaela earned a master of public policy in energy and environment from the University of Calgary and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa with an honors bachelor's in international development and globalization.
