Nicolas Jude Larnerd (they/them) serves as the program manager and research associate for the Humanitarian Agenda at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and holds the position of global fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at the Watson Institute of Brown University. Their expertise lies at the crossroads of humanitarian affairs and policy, with a focus in sanctions/AML/CFT, climate change, and gender issues. Prior to joining CSIS, they worked in the Gender and Human Rights Branch at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), amplifying gender-based violence responses. They bring two years of program coordination experience from Project Elea at Eleonas Refugee Camp in Greece, where they responded to the migration and Covid-19 crises. Jude earned an MA in human rights and democracy from the Università di Padova and a BA in history from UCLA. Their extensive background in the humanitarian sector drives their commitment to enhancing humanitarian operations and shaping foreign policy.
