
Paula Reynal is a program manager and research associate for the Defense and Security Department at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where she supports the department's research agenda and coordinates events. Prior to her current role, she was a research assistant for the CSIS Project on Prosperity and Development (PPD). While at PPD, her portfolio included topics ranging from combating global food insecurity to reforming Ukraine’s mental healthcare infrastructure. Prior to that, she was an intern for the CSIS International Security Program. Her research interests include the strategic implications of emerging technologies, civics education, and the interplay between international development and security. Paula holds an MA in international affairs from the George Washington University with a dual concentration in U.S. foreign policy and international security. She graduated magna cum laude from California State University in 2020, where she completed a double BA in history and political science.
