Pongkwan Sawasdipakdi

Pongkwan Sawasdipakdi is a PhD candidate in political science and international relations at the University of Southern California (USC) and a Hans J. Morgenthau- predoctoral fellow at the University of Notre Dame. Previously, she was a U.S.-Asia grand strategy fellow at USC from 2021 to 2023. Pongkwan also holds a position as a lecturer at Thammasat University’s Faculty of Political Science in Bangkok, Thailand. Her research interests encompass a range of topics, including political psychology in international relations as well as Southeast Asia and its interactions with major powers. Pongkwan received a BA in political science from Chulalongkorn University and an MA in Southeast Asia studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Her work on the Belt and Road Initiative has been published in Asian Perspective.
