Vitalii Dankevych is dean of the Faculty of Law, Public Administration and National Security, at Polissia National University in Ukraine and a professor at the Department of International Economic Relations and European Integration. He attained his doctorate degree in 2018 from Zhytomyr National Agroecological University, specializing in economics and management of the national economy. His dissertation was titled “Development of Land Relations in Agriculture: Theory, Methodology, Practice.” Dr. Dankevych is an expert of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. His professional experience includes consultancy for the World Bank project “Supporting Transparent Land Governance in Ukraine” during 2018 and 2019. He is credited as a coauthor of the inaugural statistical yearbook “Land Governance Monitoring in Ukraine” (2018). Dr. Dankevych is part of the Global Learning in Agriculture community (United States) and has been a fellow at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (IERES) since 2022. His academic research focuses on food security and the ramifications of the Russian war against Ukraine on global food security. His research work has been published in several prominent platforms such as VoxUkraine, PONARS Eurasia Policy Memo, The Conversation, the Washington Post, and Europe's Edge, among others. Since the onset of 2022, Dr. Dankevych has curated and presided over numerous international forums dedicated to global food security at leading research institutions.
