Won Joon Jang
Dr. Won Joon Jang is a visiting fellow with the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is also a research fellow with the Defense & Airspace Industry Research Center at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET). He previously directed the defense industry research division at KIET and served as a defense sub-committee member at the National Science and Technology Advisory Committee. He is a member of numerous other defense-related boards in the South Korean government. Dr. Jang received his Ph.D. in economics from Seoul National University in 2005. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio at 1998 with an M.S. in logistics management.
Dr. Jang has published numerous papers on the defense industry. His primary areas of interest include the fourth industrial revolution, defense offset, civil-military integration, economic analysis of defense programs, technology valuation, open innovation, technology transfer, performance evaluation, and priority selection and RAM.
