The CSIS Africa Program seeks to understand current security threats, anticipate risks to stability, and assess U.S., international, and African-led security initiatives. Current and recent areas of focus include terrorism in the Sahel, the challenge of Security Sector Reform, and the evolving mission of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).
