Emerging Indian Economy Signature Series
The project explores key sectors of the Indian economy in order to provide an in-depth perspective on its complexities, its potential and the challenges it faces
Around the world, interest in India’s economy has been growing. Yet many aspects of its complex growth story remain underexplored, leading to misperceptions about what propels the Indian economy.
The India Chair in US-India Policy at CSIS seeks to provide an in-depth perspective on India’s economic future by examining developments in key sectors of the Indian economy including:
- Energy
- Infrastructure
- Health Care
- Manufacturing
- Human Capital
This project is directed by CSIS Fellow Persis Khambatta. The Signature Series program brings together industry leaders, policy makers and public citizens via a high-profile speaker series to address the complexities as well as highlight the challenges and areas of untapped potential in India’s economy. Each component of the project will advance policy recommendations for the main areas of study through published reports, senior roundtables, and events taking place in both the U.S. and India.
