Indian States Health Innovation Partnership
This project explores India’s state-level healthcare reform priorities to create new opportunities for U.S. healthcare players to engage with Indian states, map and enhance collaboration on innovation in healthcare, and share best practices in policy and regulatory reforms
The project was made possible by our donor RIST and collaborator, Duke University/Innovations in Healthcare. It was a one-year project from June 2018 to May 2019.
Deliverables:
The project aimed to
- develop a clearer picture of India's state-level healthcare reform priorities
- delivery gaps ripe for partnership with global innovators
- create new opportunities for U.S. healthcare players (universities, companies, research laboratories, U.S. state government agencies, foundations) to engage with Indian states.
The major objectives of the partnership were to:
- strengthen health outcomes in India
- initiate healthcare innovation projects and scale them up across multiple states
- uncover India’s health innovations that apply to the United States
- map and improve collaboration on innovation in healthcare
- create new partnerships for U.S.-India technical assistance and capacity building programs
- share best practices in policy and regulatory reforms
- increase commercial engagements through private-to-private and public-private partnerships
- improve transparency by enhancing access to primary resources for analysis and dissemination
