2018 was a busy election year in Europe, and brought as much disruption and surprises to the political landscape as 2017. To help readers better understand the state of political play in these countries, the CSIS Europe Program provides the Election Watch platform, a collection of factsheets and analysis that presents the most salient campaign issues, and highlights why and how these elections will impact U.S. interests. As Russian influence operations in Europe continue, Brexit negotiations drag on, and the European Union struggles with internal divisions, we hope to shed some light on complex dynamics that will shape the continent in the near future.
