The founding Principles of IPADE

Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa is the Business School of the Universidad Panamericana. IPADE was founded in 1967 in Mexico City by several prominent businessmen to serve the following purposes:

  • Bring top management activities to a professional level.
  • Integrate the learning of leadership in the midst of an international business culture.
  • Infuse business activities with ethical significance and social responsibility, under a transcendent view of human life.

International Leadership Vision

IPADE offers an academic experience that includes the best principles of business theory perfected in the most challenging business environments of the world. As a result, IPADE has academic exchange relations with prestigious business schools around the world.

IPADE currently holds student exchange programs with business schools from the United States, Canada, England, France, Spain, Finland, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Germany, Greece, Italy and Poland among others.

IPADE has also contributed decisively to establish and start similar business schools in Latin America and Europe. IPADE maintains close ties with these institutions and conducts joint research and teaching projects.

Recent Events

On March 21, 2012, CEGE/IPADE together with its project partners were featured in a CSIS/Washington presentation (with a panel of commentators) on their public opinion polling  on “Drugs and Violence in Mexico: Public Policy vs. Public Opinion.” The session was co-sponsored by the Hills Program at CSIS, the Mexico Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, and the Paul Nitze School for Advanced International Studies.

A Global Perspective: The Advisory Committee

The Harvard Business School (HBS), the undisputed leader in the field of business education, and Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE), one of the most prestigious European business schools, have built working ties with IPADE since its very beginning.

Both institutions and IPADE have set up an advisory committee that meets every year, alternating sites, either in Boston, Barcelona or Mexico City –– to synthesize teaching perspectives and experience in three broad environments: North America, Europe, and Latin America. Distinguished members of the Mexican business community also sit on the committee. It is through evaluating academic activities and research projection that IPADE stays at the forefront of the practice of the science of management.
