In this special episode of Gaza: The Human Toll, speakers reflected on how the conflict in the Middle East and its consequences have shifted over the past year.

Dahlia Scheindlin, political analyst and columnist for Haaretz and author of The Crooked Timber of Democracy in Israel joined CSIS’s J. Stephen Morrison to discuss the Israeli opinion environment on the health and humanitarian crises in Gaza.

CSIS welcomed Jean Gough, Special Representative for UNICEF in the State of Palestine; Hamid Jafari, WHO Director of Polio Eradication; and Richard (Rik) Peeperkorn, WHO Representative for Occupied Palestinian Territory, to discuss the threat of polio in Gaza.

The CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security reflected on Project BioShield’s 20-year legacy, the lessons learned over its tenure, and the current challenges to sustaining bipartisan political and financial support into the next decade.
