Global Health Policy Center
CSIS’ Global Health Policy Center (GHPC) is the leading research institution focused on building bipartisan awareness and shaping policy debate about global health and its importance to U.S. national security
About Us
Since 2008, the GHPC has played a key role in shaping successful U.S. global health efforts. In 2020 we were ranked one of the top global health policy think tanks in the world by the Global Go To Think Tank Index.
The Global Health Policy Center's goal is to generate independent, forward-thinking and multifaceted analyses that reach a bipartisan audience and shape U.S. policy approaches on global health. We do this by undertaking policy-relevant research and bringing together diverse stakeholders—U.S. policy makers from across the aisle, global health experts, and global health and foreign policy practitioners—to discuss critical issues and develop recommendations regarding U.S. global health leadership, policies, and programs. To do this, we capitalize on our expertise in health security, infectious disease, and women’s and family health, as well as the expertise of the broader CSIS expert community on regional politics, national security, and development challenges, to examine the geopolitical issues affecting current and future global health activities.
Our influential, high-level working groups such as the Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security, the Commission on Strengthening America’s Health Security, and the Task Force on Women’s and Family Health have delivered important insights and recommendations to key decisionmakers in the U.S. Congress, the executive agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
