This program engages approximately 20-25 Taiwan military officers and civilian defense specialists in a two-week series of site visits and lectures by notable scholars and practitioners in the international security field in Washington, D.C. and Honolulu, Hawaii. CSIS has hosted eight such programs since 2001.
The project seeks to promote stability in the Taiwan Strait by broadening the perspectives of an often-isolated Taiwan military and explores key trends in U.S. security policy and international affairs, including the role of the military in a democratic society.
