Perspectives on how the Corps’ role as an expeditionary crisis response force their rotorcraft needs and how their fleet will adapt to meet new strategic imperatives

The Marine Corps has committed to the H-1 program to upgrade the bulk of their rotorcraft fleet. The Corps is also completing their acquisition of the V-22. In the far term, many of the same challenges that the Army faces in terms of additional range and speed will also affect the Marine Corps. However, unlike the Army, the Corps must also consider how to operate in a maritime environment and how this affects certain design choices.
