Conversations on how future naval concepts will shape thinking on the rotorcraft the U.S. Navy needs today and tomorrow.

The Navy has successfully transitioned most of its helicopter fleet to a single airframe, streamlining its maintenance and training regime. Looking farther afield, the Navy is constrained by the physical dimensions of their rotorcraft as they must be able to operate aboard various ship classes. New technologies offer ways to achieve missions such as carrier onboard delivery (COD) in different ways, but that would require bureaucratic adjustments. How the Navy will navigate through these options will fuel the discussions in this focus area.
