Global Fragility

Exploring new ways to address long-standing challenges in post-conflict and fragile contexts

The CSIS Project on Fragility and Mobility connects DoD, State, USAID, Treasury, and other U.S. government policymakers with critical field perspectives, bilateral allies and partners within the multilateral system, private actors, and other key stakeholders operating in these theaters. As climate change and Covid-19 disproportionately impact the developing world, as technology enables new forms of disruption, as global protest movements spread, as violent extremism increases threats to security at home and abroad, and as violent conflicts grow in number and duration, the project explores policies and practices to increase resilience to factors contributing to fragility.
