Transatlantic Relations

The Kissinger Chair has partnered with the CSIS Europe Program and Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group on a project entitled "Impact of the Financial Crisis on European Defense and Security Capabilities." This collaborative effort will seek to examine how budgetary pressures on European countries will impact their defense outlooks, health of the defense-industrial base, foreign assistance trends, and the likely impact on U.S. and partnership relations.

The Kissinger Chair is also conducting a case-study on U.S.-European security cooperation in Afghanistan as part of a collaborative project spearheaded by the CSIS Europe Program, "Transatlantic Methods for Handling Global Challenges in the European Union and the United States."
