The CSIS U.S.-Philippines Initiative is the premier Washington platform for developing the future leaders of the U.S.-Philippines alliance and deepening mutual understanding on both sides.
The U.S.-Philippines alliance is the oldest defense pact in the Indo-Pacific. It is underpinned by extensive political, economic, and security cooperation and deep people-to-people connections. Given the growing security, economic, energy, and technological challenges facing Southeast Asia, it is imperative that we invest in a more resilient and equitable relationship.
The CSIS U.S.-Philippines Initiative, which consists of an annual U.S.-Philippines conference, analyses, and other efforts, will play a leading role in advancing a high-level policy dialogue on the U.S.-Philippines alliance.
This project is made possible with support from the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI).
