Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies
The CSIS Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies seeks to answer vitally important questions about the future of Artificial Intelligence
Like electricity, computers, and other general-purpose technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning technology has become increasingly critical to innovation and growth across nearly every industry worldwide. As AI and AI-enabled technologies have become more capable and autonomous, calls to ensure that AI is used ethically and governed appropriately have grown.
The CSIS Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies seeks to answer vitally important questions about the future of Artificial Intelligence and its implications for the global economy and international security, including:
- How can private and public organizations robustly implement AI Ethical Principles in practice?
- How can governments and international organizations implement AI regulations, standards, and other governance mechanisms to balance the benefits of increased AI adoption and the need to mitigate against potential risks?
- What technical aspects of AI technology do policymakers need to understand in order to make well-informed decisions?
- As militaries and intelligence organizations prioritize AI technology, what effects will the rise of AI have on the future of international security?
