Climate Change and Sustainability Series
Climate change, energy security, and economic development are key issues facing governments today. The political reality of many of the world’s major economies is that emissions reduction cannot come at the expense of energy security and economic growth. The key to global action is to identify policy and technology solutions that reduce emissions while maintaining energy security, economic growth, and development. Luckily, many technologies and fuels sources exist today that can help meet the goal of balancing these objectives.
The CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program continually seeks to address and discuss climate change and sustainability issues through such topics as building greater infrastructure and societal resiliency, deploying clean energy technologies and solutions, and managing broader sustainability issues like the water-energy nexis within the context of ongoing economic and geopolitical energy concerns. See below for more information on current and past projects and publications on areas ranging from low-carbon pathways to tipping points to the geopolitics of clean energy.
